Sharing Our Love — Letting the Work Become an Offering
Updated: Oct 10
Presence isn’t about stopping everything and becoming perfectly still.
Sometimes presence is being completely inside the work.
Sometimes it means moving away from the computer and putting down the phone so we can be fully present inside a relationship.
Looking into our partner’s eyes.
Walking our dogs and actually seeing what is around us.
Remaining aware through uncertainty.
Finding focus in repetition.
Being happy while cooking.
Flowing while creating.
Enjoying parenting.
Listening to music while looking at the stars.
And then waking up and trying again.
But it takes courage, work, consistency, faith, and inspiration to cultivate—and eventually share—those moments of presence.
What if we began to see our work as everything we do?
Not just our profession.
Not just what we produce.
Not just the hours we spend working toward our goals.
All of it.
How do we speak to our partners?
How do we listen to our children?
How do we show up for our friends?
How do we care for our animals?
How do we prepare food?
How do we treat ourselves when nobody else is watching?
How do we move through our homes, our communities, and the natural world?
What if our daily life itself became the art of work—and the conscious practice of sharing love?
Not to prove ourselves.
Not to chase validation.
Not because someone is watching.
But to genuinely offer what we have cultivated.
Perhaps everything we have worked so hard to develop—our creativity, knowledge, food, teaching, presence, compassion, wisdom, and care—becomes bigger than us the moment it touches another person.
A meal becomes an offering.
Teaching becomes an offering.
Listening becomes an offering.
Creating becomes an offering.
Caring becomes an offering.
Our presence becomes an offering.
And perhaps the piece of art we are creating is not only the thing we make.
Perhaps the piece of art is the life we are creating around it.
A life in which our work does not ask us to abandon the people we love.
A life in which success does not require us to disappear from ourselves.
A life where we can create something meaningful while still looking into someone’s eyes, walking the dogs, cooking dinner, listening to music, noticing the stars, laughing with our children, calling someone we love, and being fully here.
Because when we honor ourselves and the people, animals, communities, and places around us, what we create begins to speak for itself.
Maybe sharing our love does not always require a grand gesture.
Maybe it happens through hundreds of small choices.
Through how we work.
How we speak.
How we create.
How we care.
How we listen.
How we live.
And perhaps, after all the courage, consistency, faith, patience, and inspiration it takes to build something meaningful, this is where the work ultimately leads:
Not simply toward an outcome.
But toward an offering.
What does “my work” mean to me when I remove profession, productivity, and money from the definition?
How does the way I live communicate what I value?
Where in my life am I physically present but not fully there?
Who deserves more of my undivided attention?
What have I cultivated within myself that I can now share with someone else?
How can my creativity, knowledge, food, teaching, presence, or care become an offering?
Does the work I am building allow me to remain connected to the people and things I love?
What would change if I stopped creating for validation and began creating as an act of love?
What does the piece of art that is my life look like today?
And finally:
What if the things I create are simply another way of sharing my love?
Until next week, may you continue walking your path with presence and love.
