The Cosmic Art & Nature Explorers is an immersive, hands-on art and sensory program where children connect with the Earth through their imagination, senses, and natural materials.
It’s not just about making art — it’s about noticing, touching, listening, and expressing what they feel through creative play and nature-based observation.
This program is deeply rooted in the 4Rs of sustainability:
Rethink – Reduce – Reuse – Recycle, helping children make art that respects and celebrates the planet.
In each session, children explore:
-
Nature-based art using clay, soil, leaves, petals, and recycled materials
-
Outdoor eco-play, nature walks, and creative seasonal observation
-
Journaling, storytelling, and art-making through the lens of the Earth’s cycles
-
Sensory exploration through texture, scent, color, light, and sound

This winter program:
This winter, our Cosmic Art & Nature Lovers embark on a magical journey through world cultures — where art, mindfulness, and storytelling come together.
Each week, children explore ancient traditions that celebrate nature, gratitude, and creativity, transforming simple materials into meaningful works of art they’ll treasure for years to come.
Through hands-on projects inspired by Japan, Mexico, India, and the Andes, children will learn the values of beauty in imperfection, compassion, light, and intention. They’ll paint, weave, sculpt, and journal — connecting heart, hand, and Earth in every creation.

Ages: TK–5th grade
12 students per class
Hosted at Woody's Clubhouse

Winter 2026 Session – Sample Projects
Theme: Ancestry and art that supports our path
Each piece carries a story, a lesson, and a little bit of magic — reminding every child that they, too, are artists of the Earth.
1. Japanese Winter Wishes: The Art of Kintsugi & Gratitude
Children learn about the Japanese philosophy of kintsugi — mending broken pottery with gold as a symbol of beauty in imperfection. Each child repairs or decorates a small clay bowl or cup, then fills it with “gratitude notes” for the year ahead.
Values: Resilience, appreciation, mindfulness.
Take-home treasure: A golden gratitude bowl to hold intentions or keepsakes.
2. Mexican Milagros & Cosmic Hearts
Inspired by traditional milagros (tiny metal charms symbolizing prayers or wishes), kids design their own “heart milagro” with recycled foil, clay, and paint. They learn how art carries emotion, prayer, and connection — creating a piece filled with love and meaning.
Values: Hope, compassion, emotional expression.
Take-home treasure: A personalized milagro heart symbolizing what they love and protect.
3. Indian Mandala of Light
Children explore the ancient symbolism of mandalas and the celebration of Diwali, the festival of lights. Using spices, flower petals, and natural colors, they co-create a large mandala on fabric or canvas, learning about unity, cycles, and inner light.
Values: Harmony, creativity, collective art.
Take-home treasure: A mini hand-painted mandala on wood or canvas to hang at home.
4. Huichol Dream Weavers
Inspired by the Ojo de Dios (God’s Eye) tradition from the Huichol people of Mexico and the Andes, kids weave their dreams into colorful yarn and stick creations, learning about patience and the sacred act of weaving as prayer.
Values: Intention, balance, connection between humans and nature.
Take-home treasure: A dream guardian — a woven Ojo to hang or a a pillowcase as a blessing at home.
→ Bonus mini-activities may include nature mandalas, eco collages, and group art rituals.
Whether painting gratitude stones, building seed mandalas, or creating with earth pigments, this program helps children develop a deeper relationship with the planet and their own creative spirit.
Let’s bring mindful art to your school.
